Kawasaki has announced the launch of the Ninja ZX-25R in the Indonesian market. Apart from the launch, Kawasaki has also revealed the complete specifications and the variants of the quarter-litre motorcycle. Here we explain all the details about the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R.
Design and Features
The new Ninja ZX-25R draws styling cues from its bigger siblings like the Ninja ZX-6R and the Ninja ZX-10R. Thus, the quarter-litre model comes equipped with a twin-pod headlight, RAM air intake, full-fairing, muscular fuel tank and split-style seats. The feature list includes trellis frame, LED headlight, an LED taillight, semi-digital instrument cluster, 785mm seat height, aluminium footpegs, adjustable brake and clutch levers and an underbelly exhaust. The safety net on the motorcycle comprises of Kawasaki Traction Control, power modes and dual-channel ABS.
Variants and Colours
The Ninja ZX-25R will be offered in two variants in the Indonesian market – standard and Special Edition. The feature list is similar on both variants, although the Special Edition further benefits from bidirectional Kawasaki Quick Shifter and dual-channel ABS as standard. The standard version is available in a single colour option - Metallic Spark Black. The Special Edition is available in three, dual-tone colour choices – Lime Green/Ebony, Metallic Spark Black/Pearl Flat Stardust White and Candy Plasma Blue/Metallic Spark Blue.
Engine
Kawasaki had previously revealed the displacement of the Ninja ZX-25R, although it remained tight-lipped about the specifications. Now, the company has revealed that the 249.8cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve engine produces 49.3bhp (50.3bhp with RAM Air) of power at 15,500rpm and 22.9Nm of peak torque at 14,500rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed transmission that benefits from an assist and slipper clutch.
Hardware
The premium hardware on the motorcycle comprises of 37mm, Showa SFF Big Piston USD adjustable forks and horizontal backlink adjustable rear shock absorber to perform the suspension duties. Braking power comes from a 310mm disc at the front and a 220mm rotor at the back. The 17-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in Dunlop GPR300 tyres.
Price
The standard variant of the Ninja ZX-25R is priced at IDR 96,000,000 while the Special Edition is available for IDR 112,900,000. The deliveries in Indonesia will begin in August 2020.
