- Deliveries to start in December 2020

Kawasaki has commenced the pre-orders for its new quarter-litre motorcycle, the ZX-25R in New Zealand. The company has also confirmed that the upcoming model will be priced at 15,990 New Zealand dollars (excluding the ORC). The deliveries of the ZX-25R are scheduled to start in December 2020.
The motorcycle will not be stocked in New Zealand. Instead, it will be imported based on the orders placed by the customers. Much the same as the Ninja H2 Carbon, H2R and other models that are not stocked in New Zealand.
The company stated in its press announcement that the four-cylinder, quarter-litre motorcycle is specifically designed for the Indonesian and the Japanese market. The company had commenced pre-bookings in Indonesia in March this year, although the launch was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Kawasaki says that the new inline four-cylinder, DOHC, 250cc engine powered Ninja ZX-25R is a model that has been engineered with excitement, opposed to price. While the company has confirmed that the engine can rev to over 17,000rpm, the final specifications are yet to be revealed.
The motorcycle comes equipped with race-inspired features such as Showa SFF Big Piston USD adjustable forks and horizontal backlink adjustable rear suspension to perform the shock absorption tasks. The safety net includes ABS, power modes and traction control system. The six-speed gearbox benefits from a quick shifter as standard. The ZX-25R also uses aluminium swingarm and a high-tensile steel chassis developed with learnings from the Ninja H2.
While the pre-bookings are open in New Zealand, the Indian launch details are yet to be announced.
