Last month, Kawasaki unveiled the race-spec variant of its newest quarter-litre motorcycle, the Ninja ZX-25R. The race-spec Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R can be used on a racetrack only, and it thus drops hardware such as headlight assembly, taillight, indicators, rear number-plate holder and rear-view mirrors. Here we bring detailed images of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R race edition.
The stock design is retained, although the race edition drops street-legal hardware and gets an NASSERT-R Evolution Type II race prototype exhaust system. The new exhaust features a conventional mounting position instead of the underbelly unit on the standard Ninja ZX-25R.
The Ninja ZX-25R race edition gets a comprehensive carbon fibre treatment, and the motorcycle is oozing with the exotic material.
The front fascia gets an aftermarket windscreen.
The carbon-fibre finish of the motorcycle is complemented by the green, honey-comb graphics that are visible on the fairing. Similar graphics are also visible on the standard Ninja ZX-25R. The white decals add an appealing look to the motorcycle.
The race-spec motorcycle rides on soft-compound Dunlop Sportmax tyres.
The Ninja ZX-25R race edition is equipped with six-step adjustable SNIPER brake and clutch levers. The brake lever protector adds a sporty touch to the visuals.
The race edition gets a suspension upgrade, and it uses ZX-10R-sourced Showa rear mono-shock. The front, on the other hand, is the stock unit from the standard bike, although the tubes have been coated.
The stock rider seat is replaced by a racing unit while the pillion saddle has been traded for a rear cowl.
Kawasaki has also revised the ergonomics for a sportier riding position, and the Ninja ZX-25R race edition comes equipped with SNIPER rear set footpegs.
