- Ninja ZX-4R is not a rumour anymore
- Patent pictures carries ZX-4R reference
A few days ago, we talked about the new Ninja ZX-4R and its rumours. But now, it looks like the ZX-4R is actually happening.
According to a report, Kawasaki was already working on the ZX-4R since long. But decided to bring in the ZX-25R first due to business requirements. This report went on to say that the patent picture leaks have no mention about the 250cc model but there’s a text in those documents that says “the present invention can be more preferably applied to a vehicle having four-cylinder 400cc engine”. This clearly means that the bike is definitely under development.
These patent pictures primarily focusses around the fairing design. There's an integrated duct to redirect air around the radiator and header pipes and directly to the engine itself. But it looks like the Japanese brand built the ZX-25R based on the ZX-4R platform and not the other way around.
We can expect the brand to unveil this bike later this year and will first head to European markets, where there’s a market for such motorcycles.
