- Over 3000 Kawasaki bikes recalled in the US
- Issue with camshaft chain tensioner
- Will be fixed free of cost
Kawasaki has recalled over 3000 motorcycles in the US due to issues with the camshaft chain tensioner.
This recall affects a range of motorcycles manufactured between 2015 and 2023. The company says that the plunger in the camshaft-chain tensioner can lock up during usage due to the deterioration of internal parts. Continuous use in this condition can result in loss of engine power during use. There is a risk that the engine could stop during operation due to the camshaft timing deviation.
A total of 3172 bikes have been recalled. These bikes are the Z1000, Ninja H2, Ninja H2 SX and Z H2. The Japanese brand will contact the affected owners and ask them to bring the bikes to the nearest SVC. The technician will check if the bike is affected and, if it is, will replace the cam chain tensioner and the gasket free of cost.
