- 3 new EV bikes from Kawasaki
- Will be unveiled in 2022
- Ninja 400 could be electrified
Kawasaki is planning to go aggressive with its EV plans. The company will unveil three new electric motorcycles next year.
This news was shared by the company’s top honcho, Hiroshi during the presentation at EICMA. Other than this, no other information was shared. The Japanese brand has been working on electric motorcycles and technologies for a few years now. But this is the first time the brand decided to release some concrete and confirmed developments to the public. The company had teased an electric version of the Ninja 400 a few years ago. But it was an early prototype, making us believe that a production model could be ready in a few months.
We believe Kawasaki would first electrify its entry-level motorcycles and then move to big bikes. So there’s a high possibility that some dirt bikes along with Ninja 300 and Ninja 400 to get EV treatment first. But lets wait till 2022 and see the actual release. The brand could surprise us with a ZX-10R EV version as Kawasaki Heavy Industries is known to work on plenty of shocking projects.
