- Kawasaki unveils 2022 Versys-X 250 for Japan
- Comes in two new colour options now
- To reach dealerships in February 2022
Kawasaki’s smallest adventure motorcycle, the Versys-X 250, has been updated for the model year 2022 in Japan. The motorcycle will be available in two new colour options - Candy Lime Green with Metallic Flat Spark Black and Metallic Ocean Blue with Pearl Robotic White. It is scheduled to start reaching dealerships from February 2022 in Japan.
With the 2022 Versys-X 250, Kawasaki will provide a few adventure-oriented components as standard which weren’t available in the previous edition. These goodies include 17-litre metal panniers on both sides, an engine guard, a centre stand, and a power socket. The bike remains unchanged on all other fronts.
Powering the Versys-X 250 is a 249cc, 180-degree, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that would do duty in the previous generation Ninja 250. This unit pumps out around 33bhp of power at 11,500rpm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle rides on a 19-17-inch spoke wheel combination that’s shod with dual-purpose rubbers and is suspended by 130mm telescopic forks at the front and a link-type monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by a single disc at both ends.
In case you’re curious, Kawasaki won’t launch the Versys-X 250 in India. The Japanese bike maker used to sell the Versys X-300 at our shores but it was discontinued a long time back.
