- Likely to be powered by a 1100cc engine
- Could retain the styling, hardware, and features
- Might debut this year
About a month ago, we learned that Kawasaki could be working on a Versys 1100 model. Now, a few new details have leaked online. The type approval documents of the Versys 1100 from Australia have leaked online.
On the design front, the Kawasaki Versys 1100 is unlikely to get any changes. You can expect it to feature the same butch and sharp front end with a split LED headlight. In the current model, you get a large transparent visor, split seats, and a single-sided exhaust. The Versys 1100 too is expected to get the same elements.
Kawasaki will likely use a 1099cc inline four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine for the Versys 1100. Its peak power could be around 133bhp compared to the 118bhp from the older engine. The engine will be mated to a six-speed gearbox. You can also expect it to get electronics like rider modes, ABS modes, traction control, and more. Kawasaki could also offer smartphone connectivity and a TFT screen on the Versys 1100.
The leaked images also reveal the hardware that comprises adjustable USD front forks, a monoshock, dual front and a single rear disc with ABS. These are mounted on 17-inch wheels with tubeless tyres.
Kawasaki is likely to debut the Versys 1100 before this year's end. We expect it to be launched in India following the international debut.
