- Kawasaki W175 spotted near Pune
- Features retro design and budget-friendly hardware
- India launch likely to happen in 2021
Kawasaki India is testing its retro-style, single-cylinder motorcycle, the W175 in the country. In fact, a test vehicle was recently caught on camera, somewhere near Pune. The W175 is already available in several international markets, and it should arrive at a competitive price tag in India. The launch details are scarce, although we may see this Japanese motorcycle in the Indian dealerships in 2021.
The retro looks of the W175 are enhanced by features like a round headlight with a halogen setup, round rear-view mirrors, fork gaiters, and wire-spoke wheels. The hardware, too, is basic, and the suspension tasks are handled by telescopic front forks and twin-sided rear springs. The braking setup comprises of a disc at the front and a drum setup at the back.
The W175 is powered by a 177cc, single-cylinder motor that makes 12.9bhp at 7,500rpm and 13.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The engine is linked to a five-speed transmission.
With the limited launch details available, we speculate the Kawasaki to price this motorcycle competitively, and we could see it arriving under the Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) tag.
