- Eliminator 450 is under development
- The details were revealed on the CARB filing
- Eliminator 400 likely to come to India
Kawasaki unveiled the Eliminator 400 a few weeks ago in Japan. But the Japanese brand has another one in its portfolio, which will be called the Eliminator 450.
According to a leaked document, Kawasaki is looking to launch the Eliminator 450 in the US later this year. This new motorcycle was confirmed during the California Air Resources Board (CARB) filing. This American agency needs to certify all the motorcycles before they are officially launched in the US.
With the Eliminator 450, Kawasaki is looking to compete directly with the Honda Rebel 500 – a motorcycle with a good presence in the US. This is why Kawasaki will likely power the Eliminator 450 with a bigger 451cc engine. Currently, there are no details on the actual power figure, but it could be on par with its Honda rival, if not lesser.
The leaked document showed multiple variants of the bike. There’s a base model codenamed the EL450A, whereas the ABS version was called the EL450C and the EL450D, in those filings. These variants will be showcased at launch, which we expect to happen later this year. Sadly, the Eliminator 450 won’t make it to India, but there’s a high chance of the 400 coming to our market.
