- Kawasaki unveils Ninja ZX-25R at the Tokyo Motor Show 2019
- Is powered by a 249cc, four-cylinder engine
- Gets premium set of hardware and electronic aids
Kawasaki has finally unveiled its much-anticipated quarter-litre offering, the Ninja ZX-25R, at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show in Japan.
Unlike other 250-300cc motorcycles which either get a single-cylinder or twin-cylinder motor, the ZX-25R features a 249cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve motor with as many as four-cylinders! Although the power figures have not been revealed yet, this mill is speculated to churn out as much as 59bhp of power. This makes it one of the most powerful quarter-litre motorcycle.
Kawasaki has also equipped the ZX-25R with a host of electronic wizardry which is on par with much larger displacement motorcycles. The list includes Kawasaki Traction Control, Kawasaki Quick-Shifter and power modes as well. The same story continues in the hardware department as this Ninja is equipped with top notch cycle parts. Underpinned by a steel trellis frame, the motorcycle is suspended by inverted Separate Function Fork (SFF-BF) up front and horizontal back-link monoshock at the rear. Braking setup consists of disc brake at both ends with monoblock radial caliper at the front.
All the aforementioned aspects are complemented by a profoundly aggressive styling. The motorcycle sports compact set of split headlamps with pointed nose fairing which extends into a distinctive-looking fairing design. From the muscular fuel tank to the sharp tail section, the design looks closely similar to its lite-class sibling, the Ninja ZX-10R.
Kawasaki hasn’t revealed the details about the official launch and pricing of the motorcycle yet. While it will be available in the international markets, the ZX-25R is unlikely to come to India. Considering the highly premium package that it is, the pricing will be way too high for the Indian market.
