- Spotted at a dealership in India
- Looks like a typical old-school scrambler
- Engine specs not known yet
The Hungarian two-wheeler brand, Keeway, seems to be prepping to expand its India portfolio with the launch of a unique offering soon. It goes by the name SR125 and it was spotted parked at a dealership in the country. If the company decides to launch it here, it will be the smallest scrambler-styled offering on sale in India.
Although the SR125 looks small in terms of dimensions, it exudes a proper old-school scrambler vibe with knobby tyres, chopped fenders, fork gaiters, a round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a seat with a ribbed pattern. Visual aspects like a single round console and minimal use of body panels lend it a clean look. While its off-road credentials can only be examined after a proper test ride, the aesthetics, at least, are profoundly rugged.
The SR125 is quite basic on the hardware front. It is underpinned by a single downtube chassis, rides on spoke wheels suspended by telescopic forks upfront and dual springs at the rear. Stopping power comes from a single disc at both ends with single-channel ABS. As for the engine, it runs on a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine power and torque figures of which aren’t known yet.
Keeway already has an interesting portfolio of six two-wheelers including two scooters – Vieste 300 and Sixties 300i; two cruisers – K-Light 250V and V302C; the K300 R sportbike; and the K300 N naked street bike.
