- Keeway MBP F125 unveiled at Intermot
- Will compete against the KTM 125 Duke
- Likely to come to India in the near future
Keeway took the wraps off its KTM 125 Duke rival, the MBP F125, at the 2022 Intermot show in Cologne, Germany. While the motorcycle sits close to its Duke in terms of displacement and body style, there are a few aspects which make the Keeway stand out.
Firstly, the MBP F125 is extremely light with a kerb weight of 140kg which makes it around 19kg lighter than the 125 Duke. Powering the bike is a 124.9cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor that churns out around 15bhp and 10.85Nm of peak torque. Although the torque output is lower than the KTM, the overall power-to-weight ratio of the Keeway is considerably better.
The cycle parts are also nearly as premium as the 125 Duke. The MBP rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with 110-section and 130-section tyres at the front and rear, respectively. Damping duties are handled by dazzling gold-finished upside-down forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock. As for the braking hardware, there is a 240mm disc up front and a 220mm rotor at the rear.
The most notable trait of the Keeway MBP F125 is its styling. It boasts an aggressive and athletic stance with a radical-looking headlamp, angular and contoured fuel tank extensions, and a pointed tail section. The fuel tank capacity of the motorcycle is a respectable 14-litre.
Looking at Keeway’s aggressive portfolio expansion in India, it’s possible that the Chinese brand will introduce the MBP F125 to our shores after its international launch which is expected to take place by the end of this year.
