Kinetic has officially confirmed its plans of launching the MV Agusta brand in the Indian market. With the first motorcycle launch slated in November, the company’s sportsbike line-up is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 33 lakh.
Kinetic has also revealed that it will eventually bring in MV Agusta’s entire range including the Brutale, Rivale, Turismo Veloce, F3 and the F4 to the country in the next couple of years. Unlike a majority of superbikes sold in the country, a few of these models are going to be locally assembled from semi-knocked-down kits imported from Varese, Italy. Under the partnership deal struck with MV Agusta, Kinetic will set up showrooms across the country as well as provide after-sales services for the customers.
Speaking about this venture, Mr Ajinkya Firodia, MD, Kinetic World said, "We are really excited to be bringing these extraordinary machines to India, for riders who demand the utmost performance from their bikes. MV Agusta sportsbikes and superbikes are packed with high-end technology and race-derived electronics, which come together to offer an unbeatable blend of power, performance and handling. The styling and the sheer riding dynamics of these machines underline MV Agusta's tagline – this indeed, is ‘Motorcycling Art’ as never seen before in our country."
Founded in 1945, MV Agusta is a premium motorcycle manufacturer with a rich legacy of building racing motorcycles. Known for its exotic and technologically advanced sportsbikes, the company has been strengthening its presence across the globe ever since it got the backing from Mercedes-AMG.
The premium motorcycle segment in India has been growing steadily for the past couple of years. In such a scenario, many international bike manufacturers have made it to the Indian shores to get a bite of the pie. MV Agusta makes a good case for itself with its range, but it will be the pricing which will decide whether they will get to eat it.
