KTM 125 Duke-rival Hanway NK 125 Furious: Details Explained

The KTM 125 Duke faces stiff competition from the Hanway NK 125 Furious in a few European markets. As we had told you recently, the latter has been updated in accordance with the new Euro5 emission norms. However, the engine is not the only component that has received changes as the bike has been updated in some other areas as well. Here, we tell you all about the NK 125 Furious in detail.

Design

Also known as the Online Pista 125 in a few markets, the NK 125 has been marginally updated on the styling front. It gets a new full-LED headlamp that looks truly radical with a geometric shape. It also gets bronze-finished upside down forks that look quite premium. Giving it a muscular appeal are a sculpted fuel tank, a stubby tail, and a large exhaust canister. The motorcycle is available in three colour options – red, black, and white.

Features

Hanway has equipped the NK 125 Furious with an impressive list of features for its size. Besides an LED headlamp and tail lamp, even the turn indicators are LEDs. While its rival, the 125 Duke, gets an LCD dash, the NK 125 is a step ahead with a full-colour TFT display. And enhancing its practicality is the presence of a USB charger.

Engine

Just like its design and features, the powerplant of the street bike is also pretty modern. It’s propelled by a 124cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder mill with four valves per head. Couple with a six-speed gearbox, this unit churns out 15bhp of power and 11Nm of peak torque.

Cycle parts

For 2021, Hanway has equipped the NK 125 with new ten-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod with a 110/70 section tyre at the front and a 140/70 section rubber at the rear. Handling suspension duties are 35mm inverted forks with 40mm of travel and a monoshock with 55mm of travel. Stopping power comes from a single disc at both ends with a combined braking system.

Pricing and availability

The Hanway NK 125 Furious is retailed for 3,500 euros (approximately Rs 3.10 lakh) in Germany. It won’t be launched in India anytime soon. For those who want a premium and sporty 125cc street bike here, the only option they have is the KTM 125 Duke.
