Mutt Motorcycles, a Birmingham-based two-wheeler brand, has launched the Akita 125 in the UK. This 125cc bike competes against the likes of the KTM 125 Duke in the country. The motorcycle is priced at GBP 3,495 which converts to Rs 3.59 lakh. While its arrival in the Indian market seems highly unlikely, let's take a look at the details of the same.
Design
The Mutt Akita 125 gets a cafe racer retro-inspired design. It comes with a circular headlamp with grill, round taillight, rectangular-shaped 16-litre fuel tank, spoke wheels, block-pattern tyres, underbelly pan, a metal exhaust and a single piece tan-coloured seat. The cafe racer motorcycle is offered in two colour options: Silver and Matte Black.
Engine
Powering the Mutt Akita 125 is a 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivers 11.83bhp of power and 10Nm of torque. This engine comes coupled with a five-speed manual transmission.
Features
Being an entry-level motorcycle, the Mutt Akita 125 is offered with limited features like a halogen bulb for its headlamp and taillight, LED indicators, a Combi-braking system and a circular analogue instrument cluster that displays speedometer and odometer reading.
Hardware
The suspension duty on this bike is handled by telescopic forks at the front and dual springs at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking, it employs a single disc on both ends assisted by a combined braking system. The seat height here is kept at 780mm while the motorcycle weighs 127kg. The Mutt Akita 125 rides on 18-inch spoke wheels.
