KTM has brought its big bike lineup in India and it also includes the 1290 Super Adventure S. The bike has been launched in India at Rs. 22.74 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and here is what it offers.
The KTM 1290 Super Adventure S is a relatively large and brawny adventure motorcycle. It too gets a tall stance with bulky bodywork and gets a rugged styling overall. The 1290 Adventure S gets a split LED headlight with DRLs and a radar sensor at the centre.
Powering the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S is a 1301cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that makes 158bhp and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. It gets a bi-directional quickshifter, a slipper clutch and a truckload of electronic rider aids. The list comprises multiple ride modes, traction control, ABS modes including off-road ABS, cruise control, a seven-inch TFT, smartphone connectivity, and more.
The 1290 Adventure S rides on WP semi-active front USD forks and a semi-active monoshock as well. Its brakes comprise a pair of 320mm front and 267mm rear discs mounted on cast aluminium alloys wrapped in Mitas Terra Force R tyres.
The KTM 1290 Adventure S rivals the BMW R 1300 GS, Ducati Multistrada V4 and the like. It sits as the flagship adventure motorcycle from KTM for the Indian market.
