KTM recently unveiled the 1390 Super Duke GT at the EICMA. It is based on the 1390 Super Duke but is more touring-oriented and gets the build to munch miles for long rides. Let's take a look at what the bike looks like.
Visually, the 1390 Super Duke GT gets the identical headlight setup as the standard 1390 Duke. It comprises boomerang-shaped LED DRLs with a centrally set projector unit.
The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT dons large and muscular fuel tank panels and extensions. It also features a large visor at front.
KTM has also employed a wider handlebar on the 1390 Super Duke GT. This should give it more leverage and handling prowess.
KTM has used the same engine for the 1390 Super Duke GT as it does for the standard model. This is a 1350cc twin-cylinder motor that makes 188bhp and 145Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox and gets a bi-directional quickshifter.
The GT also gets the same main frame as the standard Super Duke. The bike rides on WP’s semi-active USD forks and a monoshock.
The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT gets three ride modes (rain, street, sport, track), anti-wheelie control, traction control, a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity with access to navigation, and more.
Braking duties on the 1390 Super Duke GT are done by a pair of 320mm front discs and 240mm rear discs and these are mounted on 17-inch cast aluminum wheels wrapped in Michelin Power 6 tyres.
While KTM will bring the 1390 Super Duke to India along with a bunch of other models, we are yet to find out whether the GT will make it to our shores.
