KTM has launched its flagship naked motorcycle in India, the 1390 Super Duke R. It is the latest and the most powerful production motorcycle from KTM. Here are five thing things you must know about it.
Design
The KTM 1390 Super Duke R gets a completely revamped design compared to all other models in the brand’s lineup. Its front portion houses an LED headlight with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The setup is exposed and gives the 1390 Duke R an imposing look. The overall sharp theme is further enhanced by the angular bodywork. In typical KTM fashion, the 1390 Duke R is draped in a bright paint scheme of orange.
Features
Apart from LED illumination, the 1390 Duke R gets riding modes, a lean-sensitive traction control system, TPMS, anti-wheelie, and more. All these rider aids can be toggled using the TFT which further supports smartphone connectivity.
Engine
Powering the mighty 1390 Duke R is a 1,350cc, LC8, V-twin engine that produces a whopping 190bhp. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox and benefits from a bi-directional quickshifter. This is also the most powerful motor that KTM currently uses for its road-going motorcycles.
Hardware
The KTM 1390 Super Duke R uses WP semi-active suspension with five different settings. Its braking hardware comprises Brembo dual front discs and a single rear mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Power GP tyres.
Price
The asking price for the KTM 1390 Super Duke R is set at Rs. 22.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It rivals the Ducati Streetfighter V4 and the BMW S 1000 R.
