- It’s a track-only motocross bike
- Makes 46bhp and weighs 104kg
- Competes against Kawasaki KX250
KTM India has launched some of its track-only motocross bikes from the international portfolio. While the 50 SX, 65 SX and 85 SX are meant for kids, the company has also launched the bigger 250 SX-F for adults looking for a serious motocross machine.
Typical of competition bikes, the specifications of the 250 SX-F are quite fascinating and unlike any production, road-legal bike with the same displacement. Its 249.9cc single-cylinder, four-stroke motor produces around 46bhp and 26.5Nm! What’s further interesting is that it weighs just 104kg which means incredible power-to-weight ratio and immense fun on the track.
Based on a central double-cradle steel frame, it rides on 21-18-inch spoke wheels with knobbies. The suspension setup comprises WP Xact Aer forks up front and WP Xact rear monoshock with full adjustability. The saddle height and ground clearance sit at a staggering 958mm and 343mm, respectively. It also gets features essential for dirt racing including launch control, quick shifter, and selectable engine maps.
The KTM 250 SX-F is priced at Rs. 9.58 lakh. It competes against the Kawasaki KX250 which is more affordable at Rs. 8 lakh, both prices are ex-showroom.
