KTM India has announced its participation at the India Bike Week 2022, and the showstopper at the KTM stall will be none other than the Dakar-winning KTM 450 Rally motorcycle. For those not in the know, the KTM 450 Rally has won nine times in the last 11 years of the Dakar Rally. This will be an excellent opportunity to get up close and personal with the factory works rally bike, especially knowing that this year’s India Bike Week will be held in Goa after a hiatus of two years.
KTM is the most successful factory team in the history of the Dakar Rally, with 18 consecutive wins from 2001 to 2019, and 22 podiums overall. The 450 Rally has been in production since 2011, but received a major redesign in 2014, and then in 2019. The changes on this KTM include improved weight distribution, a new swingarm, an updated suspension setup, and a new airbox. Furthermore, changes have also been made to the Akrapovic exhaust system, making it shorter and lower.
While KTM has kept the specifications of the 450 Rally under wraps, the company has the KTM 450 Rally Replica on sale in the global markets. The motorcycle is limited to 70 units globally and is purpose-built to take on the world's toughest multi-stage cross-country races.
