The KTM 450 SX-F has been launched in India at Rs 10.25 lakh. This motocross bike is a purpose-built machine and it not only looks the part but also has the equipment.
To begin with, the KTM 450 SX-F has a 449.9cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine. It is paired with a five-speed gearbox. There are two engine maps with the second being the aggressive throttle map. The bike also gets the safety net of traction control.
The chassis is a central double cradle-type frame that is suspended by a 48mm WP XACT adjustable fork with 310mm travel while at the rear there is a WP XACT monoshock 300mm travel. The bike rides on wire spoke rims with off-road tyres.
Braking duties, meanwhile, are taken care of by 260mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. KTM 450 SX-F weighs 103.9kg (without fuel) and the ground clearance is an impressive 343mm.
The KTM 450 SX-F goes up against the Kawasaki KLX450R which is priced at Rs 8.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
