- New CF Moto 800MT spotted
- Based on KTM 790 Adventure
- India launch unlikely
Just a few days ago, we got you the patent pictures of the new CF Moto 800 MT – a bike that is will be launched in China soon and is based on the KTM 790 Adventure. And now, we show the leaked pictures of the production-ready model.
From the leaked pictures, it is clear that the bike resembles the patented images. The overall design language is rugged, a bit intimidating and adventure ready. The CF Moto 800MT borrows almost everything from the KTM 790 Adventure except the bodywork. So the frame, engine, swingarm – all have been taken from the Austrian cousin. However, the chassis has been reworked, along with the engine that has been detuned. The overall kerb weight of this CF Moto is high too at 231kgs. Expect this weight to go up once the bike is fitted with optional aluminium panniers.
The 799cc parallel-twin motor on the 790 Adventure makes 95bhp. But due to the slightly detuned motor and the higher kerb weight, the power-to-weight ratio of this Chinese motorcycle is likely to make this bike less exciting. But we all know how Chinese manage to offer a motorcycle with lots of features with great price point and we expect that to happen with this 800MT too.
While the ADV segment in India is growing, the brand CF Moto hasn’t. The company still has poor presence in the country. So we don’t think we’ll get the 800 MT in India anytime soon.
