KTM has released a detailed presentation about its newest middleweight offering, the 890 Duke R on its YouTube channel. The 890 Duke R, also referred to as ‘The Super Scalpel’, made debut at the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy in November last year.
Before you watch the presentation embedded at the end of this article, let us give you a quick recap about the motorcycle. The new KTM 890 Duke R comes with premium hardware such as fully adjustable front forks and rear mono-shock. Braking department comprises of 320mm twin discs with top-spec Brembo Stylema callipers at the front and a 240mm single rotor with a Brembo floating calliper at the back. KTM has also revised geometry on the 890 Duke R for a sportier ride than the 790 Duke.
The comprehensive electronic package includes multiple riding modes, lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, launch control and wheelie control.
Mechanical specifications include an 890cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that makes 119bhp of power and 99Nm of torque. The power and torque figures are higher by 15bhp and 14Nm respectively over the 790 Duke. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox while a Quickshifter+ system is available as an option.
