- KTM unveils 890 Duke GP variant
- Gets livery inspired by KTM’s MotoGP race bike
- Priced at a premium as compared to the base trim
KTM has taken the wraps off the new 890 Duke GP edition in North America. The Austrian bike maker has bestowed the street bike with a bold livery inspired by the brand’s MotoGP machine while keeping the mechanicals unchanged.
The 890 Duke GP looks swanky with a lot of orange paint on its body panels and alloy wheels, along with a splash of black. The cowl under its fuel tank sports the lettering ‘Ready to Race’ and the sub-frame is occupied by the logos of KTM’s industry partners - Motorex, Pankl Racing Systems, and WP. Completing the aesthetic changes is the rear seat cowl, making it look more focused than the standard trim.
The Austrian brand has left the engine and cycle parts untouched. Clinging onto its chromium-molybdenum-steel frame is an 889cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 113.4bhp and 92Nm. The comprehensive list of rider aids too has been retained; there are four riding modes (Rain, Street, Sport and Track), a lean-angle sensitive traction control system, Motor Slip Regulation, ABS with supermoto mode, and cornering ABS.
The KTM 890 Duke GP trim will be available at international dealerships from next month with a price tag substantially more premium than the base model.
