- Powered by a 947cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine
- Features adjustable WP suspension at the front and rear
- Gets a new radical design
KTM has unveiled its latest streetfighter offering, the 990 Duke, at the EICMA 2023. The new Austrian naked motorcycle brings a host of features, an aggressive and unique design, and some swanky hardware. Let’s take a look at all of it.
The 2024 KTM 990 Duke gets a very aggressive and distinct design, similar to what we have seen in KTM’s line-up. It gets a fresh fascia housing boomerang-shaped LED DRLs with a vertically stacked pair of LED lights in the centre. The fuel tank gets split shrouds on both sides and the lower portion makes the side profile sharp.
KTM has used an LC8c 947cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine and it develops 123bhp and 103Nm. The motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox and it benefits from a bi-directional quickshifter. Making the power accessible is a suite of electronic rider aids. These include traction control, ride modes, ABS modes, launch control, and a full-colour TFT that packs all the readouts like the speedometer, odometer, tripmeter(s), and fuel level indicator. It also gets smartphone connectivity for further convenience.
The new KTM 990 Duke uses WP Apex USD front forks and a monoshock, both adjustable. Its braking hardware includes dual front and a single rear disc mounted on 17-inch alloys shod to Bridgestone S22 tyres.
Currently, KTM India only has the 390 series as the most powerful offering and the launch of the 990 Duke seems uncertain.
