- Selection rounds to start on 22 March in Coimbatore
- Three categories introduced for the second season
KTM has announced the return of its one-make racing championship called the KTM Cup for 2024. The selection rounds are set to begin on 22 March at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore followed by three other major cities in April and May. The qualifiers and finale will take place between 24-26 May in Coimbatore.
The first season of the championship, which was hosted last year, attracted over 1,000 racers across India and the three champions got the opportunity to train with KTM experts at the Slovakia Ring and interact with KTM Factory racing athletes. The rewards will be similar this time as well. The winners will get a chance to train with MotoGP legends and former Grand Prix winners at the Red Bull Ring in Salzburg, Austria. Moreover, Jeremy McWilliams, an ex-MotoGP racer with two podium finishes in the 500cc class and a win in the 250cc class, will be supervising this entire season.
For the 2024 season, KTM has introduced three different categories – Pros, Amateurs, and Women. The former class will include the season 1 participants, excluding the winners, and FMSCI license holders/INMRC Racers from the last three years. The Amateur and Women category is for male and female riders, respectively, who are KTM owners or just motorcycle enthusiasts.
