KTM drops MV Agusta from its portfolio
    • KTM is currently under financial crises
    • MV Agusta production to move back to Italy
    • KTM acquired 50.1 per cent stake in MV Agusta just nine months ago

While KTM has come guns blazing in the Indian two-wheeler market with its artillery including the new 390 Adventure range, the 890s, the 1290 Adventure, and the 1390 Super Duke, the brand’s current status on a global scale narrates a different story.

KTM has found itself in deep water and surrounded by financial crises in the last few months. The brand has opted for strategic restructuring amidst supply chain restrictions and the transition to electric mobility in the two-wheeler space and has dropped MV Agusta from its portfolio. That said, the brand still has Husqvarna and Gas Gas under its umbrella. As of now, MV Agusta will move back to Italy and setup base to start the production there.

KTM is globally known for its off-road and street motorcycles. Since its inception, the brand has bagged numerous accolades in races and witnessed commendable success in sales as well. It has now brought a bunch of new models to India and plans to expand its portfolio further as well.

Given the crises that KTM is currently surrounded by, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Austrian bikemaker and how it mitigates the situation.
