- KTM not looking to introduce scooters
- Will focus on entry-level performance motorcycles
- Electric motorcycle in the pipeline
KTM is unlikely to introduce a scooter to its line-up anytime soon, Gerald Kiska, the owner of Kiska Design has confirmed. The Austrian brand is known for its raw performance-oriented motorcycles and according to Kiska, having a scooter in the portfolio would stray away from that ideal.
That said, KTM did introduce an electric scooter called the E-Speed at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Show. Complete with a trellis frame, minimal design and orange all over, the scooter looked radical and just in line with KTM styling. However, it was only a concept to show the possibilities of the brand as well as Kiska Designs.
Nevertheless, KTM does have electric motorcycles in its range but these are currently limited to motocross models like the Freeride E-XC and SX-E 5 ad SX-E 3. While the brand has the E-Duke in its future plans, KTM has not confirmed its launch timeline yet.
