- KTM, Husqvarna bikes to get 2 years extra warranty
- It is free of charge
- To avail, bikes need to be serviced at authorized garages
KTM and Husqvarna have announced to offer extended warranties on almost all of their motorcycles worldwide. But to avail that, the customers will have to bring their bikes to the official service centres for service.
According to a report, the company will offer extended warranties between two to four years without any charges. However, the customers will have to start servicing their bikes at the authorized service centres. In fact, the warranty for the official accessories like the KTM powerparts and also for Husqvarna bikes will be extended by two years.
It is clear from this program that a lot of KTM and Husqvarna customers service their motorcycles at their local garages. While the company claims that its technicians are the best people to handle the service of the bikes and also the accessories, a lot of it has to do with the revenue loss the brand and the service centres have to go through. So through this new program, the company is trying to attract customers to bring in the lost revenue.
We have reached out to Bajaj to understand if this warranty program also applies to the Indian market. However, we are yet to get any response. In India, a lot of two-wheelers customers tend to service at local garages for two reasons – these garages are closer to their homes and also cheaper to service. When the bikes or scooters are serviced at official service centres, the GST of 18 per cent is also added to the final billing, increasing the overall service cost. To avoid this big tax, a lot of customers prefer local garages where there are no such billing processes.
