KTM had recently launched its track-only motorcycle, the RC 8C globally. The supersport motorcycle was limited to just 100 units worldwide and was sold out in less than five minutes. To know more about the hand-built bike, let's take a look at the details of the same.
Design
The KTM RC 8C gets RC16-inspired carbon Kevlar-reinforced GRP fairing. It gets KTM RC 8C graphics and winglets on its fairing. It also comes equipped with a single rider seat, clip-on handlebars and disc brakes on both ends. The middleweight motorcycle is only offered in Orange paint scheme.
Engine
The KTM RC 8C is powered by a liquid-cooled parallel-twin 889cc LC8C engine that we have already witnessed on the KTM 890 Duke R. This engine sits in a bespoke steel tubular frame and produces 126.25bhp and 101Nm. All this power and torque is transmitted to its wheels via a six-speed gearbox.
Features
The supersport motorcycle is offered with features like a rain light, race-style switchgear, quick shifter, slipper clutch and five-inch TFT instrument cluster that gets AIM MXS 1.2 Race dashboard, data logger and GPS. This dashboard displays lap time and live information.
Hardware
The ride here is taken care of by WP APEX PRO 7543 closed cartridge, 43mm forks at the front and a WP APEX PRO 7746 mono-shock at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking, it employs 290mm twin-discs with Brembo Stylema calipers at the front and a single 230mm disc with a Brembo two-piston calipers at the rear. The KTM RC 8C rides on lightweight Dymag wheels that are wrapped in Pirelli SC1 race slick tyres. The seat height here is kept at 820mm while the motorcycle weighs 140kg.
