- To be equipped with an automatic gearbox
- Prototype testing teased
- Could be based on the new 1390 platform
KTM has teased a new prototype of its Adventure range. This one seems to be the Super Adventure and is equipped with a new feature – an automatic gearbox. Going by the overall bodywork, it appears that this bike could be based on the KTM’s new 1390 platform.
The teaser video of this Super Adventure prototype shows the bike being ridden on a thorough off-road track. KTM could likely equip the AMT on the 2025 Super Adventure 1390. Coincidentally, even BMW has recently patented the automatic gearbox for the R 1300 GS.
The teaser video shows a shift lever on the left side but there is no clutch lever. However, the switch cubes have a ‘down’ button. Moreover, the clip also shows AMT stickers on the body panels as well as the instrument console.
Apart from that, the overall structure, suspension, brakes, and spoke wheels are what one would expect on an off-road motorcycle. When compared to the recently spotted 1390 Super Adventure, the AMT prototype appears to have similar side panels.
KTM will take the wraps off its new offering on 24 September, which is a long way from now. However, you can expect the Austrian bikemaker to post more teasers till then.
