- KTM working on bringing race bike to production
- Likely to use Kramer GP2 parts
- Limited to only 100 units
KTM has just released one super interesting video on its social media channels today. The company is planning to introduce its Moto 2 race bike in the market but in an extremely limited numbers.
But the interesting aspect here is that this Moto 2 bike is likely to be powered by KTM’s 890cc engine and not Triumph’s three-cylinder motor for obvious reasons. This bike is likely to be based on the project bike KTM and Kramer were working on. The teaser video shows a steel trellis frame identical to the one seen on the Kramer GP2 890R track bike. This makes us believe that the Austrian brand wants to bring this bike to production.
There’s a high chance that KTM would use the Moto 2 bike design, but most of the cycle parts could come from the Kramer race bike. So things like suspension, brakes, and wheels are likely to be borrowed from the GP model. The motor, 890cc, parallel-twin is likely to produce around 130bhp and lots of torque. This motor on a motorcycle that weighs an incredible 140kgs is going make to look power-to-weight ratio of that bike absolutely fun.
KTM will sell only 100 units of this bike which we believe will be sold in a few days. But yes, expect this bike to carry a hefty price tag.
