- KTM, MV Agusta enters into partnership
- KTM will take care of sales, after-sales in North America
KTM and MV Agusta have entered into an agreement where the Austrian brand will sell MV Agusta motorcycles in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
This multi-year agreement will see KTM handle the sales, after-sales, spares and promotion of the entire MV Agusta range in that region. Currently, these bikes are sold through official MV Agusta showrooms but post this new agreement, KTM will create a new entity through which new dealerships will be opened. However, the Italian brand will continue to sell its bikes through limited MV Agusta showrooms.
It looks like MV Agusta hasn’t been able to expand its presence in North America due to the premium positioning of the brand. As the bikes are priced quite high, the overall sales numbers are at the lower end. Through this partnership, the Italian brand would be able to make full use of KTM’s strong presence in the region.
