KTM to unveil automated manual transmission on 8 October

- New KTM AMT gearbox debut on 8 October

- It will be seen on Super Adventure

- Bike will miss out on clutch lever

In the next few weeks, KTM will reveal a host of new motorcycles. But interestingly, it will begin this reveal by first unveiling its new gearbox technology- an automated manual transmission.

A few months ago, the Austrian brand teased this tech by showcasing the Super Adventure prototype. This teaser revealed a few things, like the missing clutch lever, but the gear shift lift was visible on the left side. This AMT gearbox is being developed and launched to improve the overall riding experience by reducing fatigue.

Honda has been using a DCT gearbox with some of its big bikes, but now a lot more brands like KTM and BMW are planning to use this tech, especially on its flagship bikes. Through this route, the company would be able to introduce new tech, and also charge good money for it. A tech like AMT doesn’t make sense on smaller bikes due to its pricing.

KTM’s new AMT is likely to debut on the Super Adventure on 8 October and will be showcased at 2024 EICMA. The sale of this model is likely to commence early next year.
