KTM is working on a new variant of their flagship adventure motorcycle – the 1290 Super Adventure. This new variant will become the most affordable variant of the lot.
According to the documents approved by the European authorities, this new model will be called the 1290 Super Adventure and will sit below the S variant. Basically, the model is based on the S variant but will have less features. The top most model is the 1290 Super Adventure R, which is basically a hardcore off-road variant.
The upcoming variant is likely to be positioned as a road-focused motorcycle but with lesser features than the S model. So things like the front radar system and the semi-active suspension could be taken off this variant. In fact, the overall width, height and even the wheelbase measurements are similar to the S variant. The only change that can be seen is in the weight section as the upcoming variant is almost 5kgs lighter than the S model. This clearly suggests that some features have been removed to make it lighter.
We can expect this KTM to make its global debut in the next few months and at a much lesser price than the 1290 Super Adventure S. Unfortunately, this motorcycle won’t come to India anytime soon.
