- Powered by a 550.4cc parallel twin motor
- Gets four conventional front forks
- Features a full TFT dash
Taiwanese two-wheeler maker, Kymco has unveiled its latest offering, the CV3. The updated trike has made its debut in the UK; here’s everything we know about it.
Thanks to the sharp front end, the Kymco CV3 features a youthful design. It gets a split LED headlight with a large windscreen and LED turn indicators. The CV3 appears quite butch with the aggressive bodywork and practical too since it gets a backrest for both, the rider and pillion.
Powering the new Taiwanese trike is a 550.4cc parallel twin motor with the output rated at 51bhp and 51Nm. It’s mated to a CVT gearbox and gets a climbed top speed of 168kmph. Kymco even provides a locking system with the CV3 which allows you to park it upright and standstill in a parking space or at traffic lights. The system can be deactivated manually apart from the automatic switch while riding.
Kymco has equipped the CV3 with a six-inch TFT dash, cruise control, keyless operation, heated grips, ABS, and more. Its dash houses various readouts like the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level readout, and more. On the hardware front, the CV3 gets quad front forks with a monoshock and 270mm front discs alongside a 260mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. It rides on dual 13-inch alloys and a single 15-inch rear wheel. The new Taiwanese trike also gets a large 15.5-litre fuel tank.
In the UK, Kymco has priced the CV3 at GBP 11,999 (approximately Rs 12.06 lakh sans taxes). That’s a very high asking price for a price-sensitive market like India. So, its entry here is unlikely anytime soon.
