- Taiwan-based Kymco unveils new Like 125 EV
- It can store five 50V13Ah batteries
- Collective battery range is 199km
Taiwan-based two-wheeler manufacturer, Kymco has unveiled the 2022 edition of its electric scooter, the Like 125 EV, for the international markets. This is essentially the electric version of Kymco’s Like 125 conventional scooter that’s quite popular in Europe and certain Asian markets.
The most notable feature of the Like 125 EV is its ability to store up to five swappable battery packs which collectively facilitate the scooter with a range of 199km. Rated 50V13Ah and weighing 6kg each, two of these stored batteries power the scooter at a time. As for the propulsion motor, the 3.2kW brushless DC motor produces 4.3hp and 124Nm of torque at the rear wheel.
The Like 125 EV is an attractive scooter visually as well. It boasts a modern-retro design like the Vespa models with flush-fitted and sleek body panels. Kymco has also generously equipped it with useful features like a USB charging port in the glove box, reverse mode, and a Bluetooth-enabled digital dash that pairs with the rider’s smartphone for notifications, weather alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation. Moreover, the whole lighting setup is of the LED type.
The Kymco Like 125 EV is unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon. However, we have a bunch of compelling products like the Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube.
