- New Kymco DTX 152 unveiled in Spain
- To replace the long-running Super Dink
- Gets a 13.2bhp, 125cc, liquid-cooled engine
The Taiwan-based two-wheeler brand Kymco has unveiled the new DTX 125 maxi-scooter for the Spanish market. The new scooter will replace the Super Dink model that had been a big success in a few international markets.
The DTX 125 looks like a much larger displacement maxi-scooter thanks to its muscular styling. The wide front apron houses a split headlamp, flush-fitted turn indicators, and a tall windscreen. At the rear, there’s a spacious-looking stepped seat with sizeable footrest provisions flanking the centre spine. Adding to its butch visual appeal are chunky block-pattern tyres.
Typical of a maxi-scooter, the DTX 125 offers a large under-seat storage space that’s big enough to accommodate two full-face helmets! This is accompanied by a cubby hole at the front. Other features include full-LED lighting, two USB charging ports, a fully-digital instrument cluster, traction control, and keyless start functionality.
Propelling the DTX is a 125cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Euro5-compliant engine that churns out 13.2bhp of power at 9,000rpm. It rides on 13-inch alloy wheels that are suspended by telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers. The braking duties are handled by a single disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
Kymco had announced its India entry back in 2019 in association with 22Motors, an electric two-wheeler startup. However, there hasn’t been any further announcement following the merger.
