After the launch of its KTM 390 Duke rival, Kymco has launched a new 300cc maxi-styled scooter overseas. It’s called the X-Town CT 300 and here’s what you should know about it.
A glimpse at the Kymco X-Town CT 300 and you’ll notice its target audience is the youth. The maxi-styled scooter features a sharp design but also emphasizes utility as well. A reasonably large and transparent windscreen tops its split LED headlight.
The powertrain consists of a 276cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected unit. It dishes out 24bhp and 24Nm of torque. The engine is nestled in an underbone frame suspended on conventional telescopic forks and twin rear shocks with a 5-step preload adjustment.
The X-Town CT 300 gets disc brakes with single-channel ABS. It rides on a 14-inch front wheel and a 13-inch rear unit wrapped in 120/80 and 150/70 tyres respectively. The scooter gets a 12.49-litre fuel tank and tips the scales at 184kg.
In Europe, Kymco has priced the X-Town CT 300 for EUR 4,699 (approximately Rs 3.8 lakh sans taxes). It’s unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon.
