- Powered by a centrally-mounted motor
- Gets a top speed of 115kmph
- Packs a twin lithium-ion battery pack
Chinese two-wheeler brand, Loncin motorcycles has unveiled its first electric scooter offering, the Real 5T. For reference, Loncin is the same brand that manufactures engines for the BMW F 850 GS and the F 900 R as well. Here’s what its latest EV has to offer.
The Real 5T ticks the box when it comes to the aggressive and sporty design. Its fascia houses a split LED headlight topped by a smoked visor. Even the remaining bodywork features sharp cuts and creases and the Real 5T also gets a spine in between which is what a proper maxi-scooter gets.
Loncin has positioned this e-scooter as equivalent to a 125cc petrol scooter. It gets a centrally-mounted motor with the output of around 15bhp and the top speed limited to 115kmph. It’s mated to twin 2.4kWh lithium-ion batteries nestled at the bottom of the structure. The Real 5T gets a claimed range of 240km and comes with a 1.84kW charger which helps the e-scooter charge to 80 percent in two hours.
Along with LED illumination, the Real 5T also gets three riding modes, traction control, automatic warning lights, a charging port, and reverse gear as well. It rides on telescopic front forks and an offset rear shock, while the braking duties are handled by a single front disc and rear drum unit. Lastly, Loncin currently operates in the international market only and is unlikely to enter India anytime soon.
However, if you are looking for electric scooters here, there are various options like the Ather 450X, Ola S1, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and more.
