KTM has unveiled the limited-edition 1290 Super Duke RR for the international markets. This variant of the Austrian manufacturer’s flagship roadster segment motorcycle will be produced in limited numbers of just 500 units globally.
The styling cues on the RR variant include a gloss black and matte carbon base, contrasting white graphics, and orange accents. Meanwhile, the design is similar to the standard model, and the 2023 KTM 1290 Super Duke RR retains a split-style headlight with LED DRLs, a muscular fuel tank, an exposed frame and sub-frame, rider-only seat, a rear cowl, a single-sided swingarm, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Notably, the RR variant is 11kg lighter than the standard KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO. Meanwhile, the mechanical specifications retain the 1,301cc, V-twin, liquid-cooled engine that delivers a maximum output of 177.5bhp and a peak torque of 140Nm.
The suspension setup on the KTM 1290 Super Duke RR includes WP APEX PRO 7548 Close cartridge front forks and a WP APEX PRO 7746 rear shock, both fully adjustable. This motorcycle also uses a WP APEX PRO 7117 steering damper that offers 30 clicks of adjustability.
The feature list comprises an LED headlight with LED DRLs, LED turn indicators, rear turn indicator-integrated taillight, lightweight lithium-ion battery, lightweight forged wheel, and carbon fibre subframe with a single seat. This exclusive motorcycle comes with a bespoke carbon fibre box containing the keys to the vehicle. It also gets a full-system Akrapovič EVO line exhaust system.
The company will also offer a wide range of PowerParts, along with a dedicated range of KTM PowerWear. These include a custom leather race suit, specifically completed with unique KTM 1290 Super Duke RR branding and matching design.
The orders for the 2023 KTM 1290 Super Duke RR began on 13 March, 2023. However, this motorcycle will not be sold in the Indian market.
