KTM has announced that its limited-edition motorcycle, the RC 8C was sold out within minutes after the bookings were opened on 22 July, 2021. The company confirmed in its press announcement that all 100 units of the track-only motorcycle were sold out in four minutes and 32 seconds.
The Austrian two-wheeler maker also stated that 25 buyers opted to take delivery of their motorcycles at Jerez. These 25 customers were able to book an exclusive and private KTM RC 8C Track Experience that will take place at Jerez from 7-9 October. They will get to ride alongside Red Bull KTM Factory Racing test riders Dani Pedrosa and Mika Kallio.
This limited-edition, track-only model uses a bespoke steel tubular chassis and is powered by an 890 Duke R-sourced LC8c engine. The 889cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, eight-valve engine produces 126bhp of power.
The motorcycle uses KTM RC16-inspired carbon Kevlar-reinforced GRP bodywork, aerodynamic winglets, clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs, and an Akrapovic exhaust system. The suspension hardware includes 43mm WP APEX PRO 7543 closed cartridge front forks and a WP APEX PRO 7746 rear mono-shock. The anchoring tasks are handled by twin 290mm discs with Brembo Stylema callipers at the front and a single 230mm rotor with a Brembo two-piston calliper at the back.
