- Yamaha R3 World GP 60th Anniversary Edition debuts
- Gets special livery
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Yamaha has taken the wraps off a limited-edition R3 for global markets. This motorcycle pays homage to the Japanese manufacturer’s first win at the Belgian GP in 1964 with Phil Read. Aptly called the World GP 60th Anniversary Edition, the Yamaha R3 sports a special livery. It gets the classic speed block pattern and white/red colour combo with bronze wheels. And the yellow number section on the front is reminiscent of Yamaha’s racing heritage.
However, besides the new colour, the motorcycle remains the same as before with a 321cc, parallel-twin engine, upside-down forks, full-LED lighting and an aggressively styled bodywork. Internationally, the Anniversary edition demands a slight premium over the base model. Now, besides the R3, Yamaha has also unveiled the limited-edition models of the R1 and R7 which also get the same livery. However, it is unlikely that any of the motorcycles will make their way to India anytime soon.
