- Will be powered by a 10.5kWh battery
- Gets 165kmph of top speed
- Features five ride modes, a six-axis IMU, and more rider aids
The full details of the LiveWire S2 Del Mar electric motorcycle have been revealed. For those who don’t know, LiveWire is the EV arm of the American bikemaker, Harley-Davidson, and the S2 Del Mar is their limited-run EV.
The S2 Del Mar is powered by a 10.5kWh battery and offers a range of 181km. However, this figure has been claimed for city riding and drops to 112km if ridden on the highway at speeds of around 90kmph. The S2 Del Mar’s top speed is limited to 165kmph. LiveWire says that the battery can be fully charged in eight hours and 40 minutes using a regular charger, whereas a fast charger would reduce the same to two hours and 22 minutes.
LiveWire has equipped the S2 Del Mar with fully adjustable, 43mm Showa USD front forks and a Showa free piston monoshock. Its braking hardware comprises a Brembo M4.32 four-piston monoblock calliper up front and a PF34 single-piston floating calliper at the rear. The S2 Del Mar rides on 19-inch alloys wrapped in Dunlop DT-1 tyres.
The S2 Del Mar also comes loaded with features like LED illumination, a four-inch TFT, a USB charging port, OTA updates, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, and more. Meanwhile, the list of rider aids includes five ride modes (Sport, Road, Range, Rain, and Custom), six-axis IMU, cornering ABS, and traction control.
The LiveWire S2 Del Mar is currently sold in USA, France, Germany, and a few other countries for an asking price of USD 15,499 (approximately Rs. 12.71 lakh, sans taxes). While the bike isn’t likely to be launched in India anytime soon, there’s a rather sporty and distinct-looking electric motorcycle on sale in India, the Ultraviolette F77 Recon. We have published our road test review after spending a few days with it.
