Mahindra could use Mojo’s engine on Jawa

Mahindra’s new premium company, Classic Legends that has brands like BSA and Jawa is working in full force. The company’s first product is expected to be showcased in 2019, and that bike could be powered by the Mojo’s 300cc engine.

This 300cc motor is liquid-cooled and gets fuel-injection too. It is known for its refinement and torquey nature. Plus, the usage of this motor might help the company curtail some loses as the Mojo didn’t sell as expected. Depending on the market research, the company would decide on the right displacement for the Jawa and it could hover between 250cc and 350cc. This will help the company take on the Royal Enfields as most of their high selling bikes fall in this category.

It is rumoured that this 300cc motor will also power Jawa’s future line-up to save cost and make better use of economies of scale. The BS-VI emission norms is due in 2020 and the first Jawa bike will have to meet this stringent policy.

Stay tuned to BikeWale as we bring you more details on this.
