The era of buying a motorcycle for the sole purpose of commuting or utility seems to have gone by. Motorcycle buyers, especially the ones who buy motorcycles for the joy of riding are always looking out for something special. Mahindra’s two-wheeler division has tried to deliver just that with the two new concepts based on their flagship motorcycle – the Mojo.
The first one we would want to mention is the Mojo Adventure. Based on the Mojo, this one-off custom built motorcycle looks focussed for off-road. The high and long travel front forks with the 21-inch knobby tyres, an upright handlebar with knuckle guards and a flying front fender makes it look like a proper cross-country bike. The sump guard and serated foot-pegs with the flying mudguard in the rear finish the motocross look.
The Mojo Scrambler, on the other hand, is more civilised with a flat leather seat and a single round reflector headlamp that looked a bit too big for the bike. It gets 17-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli Rosso tyres and comes with a smartphone holder mounted on the handlebar.
The two motorcycles have been built for showcase at the Auto Expo to show us how dynamic the Mojo platform is. Mahindra has said that 60 to 70 per cent of the parts are from the Mojo and hence building these motorcycles in future is an option. Though the production versions may not be as detailed, they would certainly be similar to the prototypes we can see at the Auto Expo 2016.
