Mahindra Two Wheelers may launch a cut-price base variant of their best-selling scooter, the Centuro, at the upcoming 2014 Auto Expo. The Centuro, which is a part of India’s top 10 motorcycle brands, has been the company’s strong point and it would like to cash in on its brand.
Cosmetically, the Centuro is expected to remain the same but its features like distance to empty, flip key, follow me lamps will be knocked off from the feature list. However, we are not sure if this would work, as the USP of the bike was its features. Maybe the company wants to cater to a set of customers who don’t want these features but want the bike for its looks and styling.
This new base variant of the Centuro should be cheaper by Rs 4,000 which is a big difference. We are expecting this bike will share the platform with Mahindra’s upcoming 110cc scooter and the Mojo 300 at the 2014 Auto Expo.
