Mahindra Two Wheeler is co-developing its most awaited motorcycle, the Mojo 300 with the Mahindra Racing Team. The company acknowledged that there has been a delay in launching the bike but is doing so to use the innovation and technology from their racing team.
The concept model Mojo was first unveiled in 2010 and since then the company has been working a lot to make it a good product. Mahindra has recreated the Mojo bottom-up and will be very different from the concept. Lot of cosmetic changes are expected on the final product but it will continue to be powered by a 300cc DOHC four-valve engine that is expected to churn out 26PS of power at 8,500rpm and 24Nm of torque at 7,000rpm.The machine will sport a Ducati electronic fuel injection and the power is transmitted to the rear wheel thorough a six-speed gearbox. The Mojo 300 will also feature a gas- charged rear mono shock and dual exhausts.
During a recent press conference, the company claimed that they are only company who is trying to build an engine like this in India. Mahindra is currently in the process of testing the Mojo and the launch is expected to happen during the 2014 Auto Expo.
Mahindra Two Wheelers has also doubled their production capacity from 400 units a day to 1,200 units a day to meet the demand of the Centuro which has a waiting period of two-three weeks. The Centuro is also expected to get the Start-Stop function, in future, making it a very good buy.
