Spy images of a camouflaged Mahindra Mojo 300 being tested on Mumbai-Pune old highway have emerged on the PowerDrift website. This is not the first time the 300cc motorcycle has been seen testing on public roads but these images are the clearest so far and reveal quite a bit.
The Mojo was reportedly going to undergo major surgery for radically different looks, but the images show that Mahindra will stick to the same Mojo it showed the world in 2010. It is very unlikely the company will tweak its mechanical bits either, to save on cost. The Mojo features a 300cc DOHC four valve engine that will produce around 26PS of power at 8500rpm and 24Nm of torque at 7000rpm.The machine will sport Ducati electronic fuel injection. The power is transmitted to the rear wheel thorough a six-speed gearbox. The Mojo 300 will also feature a gas charged rear mono shock and dual exhausts.
Mahindra is taking quite a lot of time to develop this model, probably because this is their first premium motorcycle. However, there is yet another spanner in the works: the recently launched KTM Duke 390 (which was launched at an impressive introductory price of Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)) which will affect the pricing of the Mojo. Expect the official launch to take place at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.
